It has been lovingly restored in keeping with the building’s Art Deco flair to create a light and airy modern bar. Locally renowned for its food, The Harrison serves high quality modern English cuisine at a reasonable price. The Harrison has four stylishly refurbished en-suite hotel rooms for the business or leisure traveller. Kings Cross has undergone a massive rejuvenation in the past 10 years and now features an increasing number of attractions and cultural establishments. The new British Library (5 min walk) has on display some of the world's most famous written and printed items, such as the Magna Carta (1215), Shakespeare's First Folio & original Beatles lyrics. Near The Harrison, the Foundling Museum (5 min walk) tells the story of London's first home for abandoned babies. Also the Charles Dickens House Museum is a few minutes walk away through the beautiful historic Mecklenburgh Square. The cutting-edge Gagosian Modern Art Gallery (5 min walk) regularly features free exhibitions such as Giacometti, Damien Hurst or Jeff Koons. The area also features a number of restaurants, bars, music venues, clubs and theatres. To the north you can walk along the canal to Camden Town or up Pentonville hill to the Angel, Islington. To the south lies the attractive Bloomsbury district, famous for its literary history, leafy squares and book shops. There is also the world famous British Museum (10 min walk) which houses a huge collection of cultural treasures from around the world, including Egyptian mummies and the Elgin Marbles.
