Having booked and paid for a room by paypal 5 days prior to my visit I was surprised when they rang me on the day I was due to arrive and said the had sold my room twice and that they were going to find me an alternative hotel. They sent me to a hotel called the universal in southall which for starters had no wi-fi always a must for any booking I make and the room was minute and smelt bad then to cap it all the roof leaked and I was getting rained on I got up and left at 3am as I had had enough Read less

everything - I do not understand how when I have booked and paid in advance for a room I can be told that the room is no lonnger available and be shipped off to such a hovel as I ended up in.

We visited London for a concert so it was very close to Wembley (4 minutes on the train, although there was no train to bring us back so be careful!)I wasn't expecting the ritz for the price, it was clean but pretty run down & just in desperate need of some TLC and general maintenance. It really wouldn't take much to tidy this place up at all and I think that would make all the difference as appearences are evrything to people's lasting impression. Easy access to the tube and train without having to stay in the city. The staff seemed friendly enough
Dislikes:
It could just do with a good tidy up, new carpets and Decor and a new bathroom sweet etc

The sink in the room was out of order, and there seemed to be a collection of mismatched furniture as well as an unplugged fridge. I couldn't turn off the radiator so the room was hot, I had to leave the window open which didn't help with the noise. I also noticed that the Glass in the window was broken. Read less

The shower and sink were broken and the electricity went off over night. Considering they have a big sign advertising a 24 hour reception, when we went to report this, nobody came to the desk. When I told them in the morning, there was no apology - typical dodgy London hotel!
There is also a big sign across the road from the 'hotel' advertising their car park - which actually turns out to be parking in a permit-only residential area. Wonderful!
I know it is a cheap hotel but come on!!! Read less

everything,heating on full cant turn off as broken raditors,cleaniness of the room,walls dirty,cant watch tv as no picture,windows very mouldy,damp and cold
