Friendliness of the staff and especially on check out as I sustained an ankle injury during my time in Croydon and the staff simply couldn't do enough for me.

Though a little run down the hotel was generally clean and nothing in the room was broken. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. The staff were friendly and the full English breakfast great.
Dislikes:
The TV was very small, which was compounded by it being a long way from the bed. The shower was rusty/limescaled, although it was a least both powerful and hot, and detachable.

Visiting South Croydon for five nights to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday.
The room was adequate. Very small shower. There was a window above the door to the room and there was a light and the staff would not allow the light to be off, so the room was not very dark for sleeping... finally I taped up newspaper to darken the room.
The last three nights... the guests in the room next to mine would wake up around 6 a.m. and chant very loudly and, of course, wake me up. Read less

No top sheet... only a bottom sheet. Is that normal for the UK? Also, had to ask for clean towels.
