"Fairly good but left feeling disappointed."
Staff very friendly and welcoming but unfortunately our window did not stay open which is unfortunate during this hot weather. No curtains only blinds on the window so woke up as soon as it got light.… Read more

The staff were really pleasant and very helpful and the breakfast setup is quirky but works very well indeed. Read less

Really liked the decor of the room, it was cosy nd well presented with a fireplace and a few bottles of water and hot drinks provided by the kettle.
Dislikes:
The room was quite hot and the fan provided was covered in dust which would have blown around the room if we had used it. The window frames could have done with a wipe down.

Unfortunately there was a Christmas party/function in the restaurant that night which included a solo singer/performer. The restaurant was directly below one of our rooms so the noise kept us awake. Lovely place and atmosphere, rooms small but nice. Unfortunately we received a parking fine a few weeks later for using their carpark. Apparently we should have inputted our registration into a ipad by the front door. We never saw this or were informed to do so when we checked in, we did however provide the car reg on the paper form we filled in on arrival in reception. Poor communication. A shame as it has spoilt our experience which would otherwise have been nice. Read less

Essex experience, I would go out if my way to stay there again, being an innocent from Bristol it was eye-opening in a nice way
Dislikes:
Shame the village has such a busy road through it but that is the South East, there is a great walk nearby which we did, such lovely countryside
